Have you stopped to think about how many ways you have to communicate with other people? At one time we used telephones and answering machines. Now, the internet and cell phones have opened a whole new technological universe of communication. Email, voice messaging, IM’s, text messages, blogs, etc., are becoming commonplace in our society. It seems that everyone is “plugged in” to the technology, but disconnected from people. Experts tell us, in spite of all the advances in communication, Americans are the loneliest people on the earth.
Even in your family, you may be experiencing a “disconnect” from your spouse and children. A2 Groups at Fellowship were formed to help real people, like you, deal with the real issues of life in an environment that allows for connecting with other real people. The name “A2” is taken from Acts 2:42-47 which is perhaps the best description of what God intended for church to look like.
Each A2 Group meeting is centered around a time of food and fellowship, Bible study, and prayer. Ordinary people, just “doing life” together. Often relationships formed in A2 Groups develop into lifelong friendships, as folks encourage and support each other. Meeting times become places where authentic community begins to develop… knowing and being known, loving and being loved, serving and being served, celebrating and being celebrated… and connecting.
We think of these groups as real life groups. Places where you can find out that you are not alone, and find people who really care about you. When you attend an A2 Group you will be in a place where you can meet God in real, life-changing ways. You will be challenged to personal spiritual growth. There will be occasions to receive as well as share wisdom as members encourage one another in discussion times. You will also have opportunities to reach “outside” the group in evangelism, international missions, and community service projects. A2 Groups are our way of taking Fellowship Church into every neighborhood in our area… you might say we’re your church next door!
