Final Words | Colossians 4:2-18
1. In verse 2 Paul says to, “Devote yourselves to prayer.” What do you think devotion to prayer should look like? Do you think the typical Christian’s prayer life can be described as devoted? Why is this a struggle?
2. This morning we said, “Prayer is not a spiritual luxury – it is essential to growth”. Do you agree with this? Do your actions agree with that statement? Why/why not?
3. Read Ephesians 6: 10-18. Why do you think Paul closes out his words on spiritual warfare with prayer in verse 18? How does prayer “keep us alert”?
4. Read Psalm 100. How often do you pray without asking for anything? How do you think prayers of thanksgiving could change our pursuit of Jesus?
5. In Colossians 4:5 Paul encourages us to “make the most of the time.” Do you think ‘wasting time’ is a struggle for many of us? How can we better prioritize the time we have?
6. In verse 6 Paul reminds us that our words matter. He has dealt with prayer, thanksgiving, the way we spend our time, and now is focused on our words. What do you think the goal of verse 6 is?
7. What do you think the theme of Colossians 4:2-6 is? What can we take away from this section of verses to make a change in our lives starting today?
