Nothing Can Separate | Romans 8:31-39

1. Read verse 31 again. What is Paul’s goal in this statement? We know things can stand against Christians, so what is he trying to communicate?

2. Genesis 22 tells a story about Abraham and Isaac at the altar. How did Abraham sacrificing Isaac show us a picture of what Jesus would one day do?

3. This morning, we said, ‘The forgiveness of God in your life is based on the finished work of Jesus on the cross.’ What does that statement mean? Why does this give Paul boldness?

4. What do you think Paul means by, ‘all things,’ in Romans 8: 32?

5. In verse 35, Paul lists circumstances that cause us to doubt God’s love for us. Why do you think we doubt the love and grace of God when life gets difficult? Does this say something about our view of God?

6. If we can expect the struggles of life in Romans 8: 35, but Paul says we are more than conquerors during these times, how do we justify this? How can we live in victory during life’s most difficult situations?

7. How would you describe these verses if you could simplify Romans 8: 31-39? What do they say about God holding us versus us holding onto Him?
